Today we solved the problem together as a class. We suggested different answers but Blake was able to give the correct answer. He suggested 15 handshakes between the 6 business men. I wonder how many handshake there will be if we had 7 business men? Can you find the pattern for this problem?

6 x 5=30 which means the answer is 30

30 because there are 6 people and 5 shakes per person (because you can't handshake with yourself) so 6 x 5 = 30!

3 because there are six people and half of six is 3.George.m
ReplyDelete3 is the answer because 3+3 =6.
ReplyDeleteFor the shaking hands problem the answer is 12 because if everybody shook hands they would be doubling their shake and 6x2=12.

I think it's 21 as well. I went 6 handshakes, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1! ( I couldn't find 7 people so I did it by myself)
