What is Division?

In Maths this week we are learning about division.

1. Can you please share with us what you know about this operation.
2.If you know a division problem that would be great so that others can solve it and learn how to divide.

    Jake had 18 rugby balls and then he shared them out then he had 9 rugby balls.

    Division is the oppisite to timestabels. Division has to be equal,lots of and groups there are lots more. Tegan had 132 lollies and 12 people wanted them how many would Tegan give her friends?

    Division is where you do grouping and sharing. Division is like multiplying but if you say 20 divided by 5 that would equal 4. Max had 144 ducks and he had to divided it in to 12 groups how meany groups did he have?

    Gemma has 32 lollies. She must share the between her 3 best friends (including Gemma herself so 4) how many lollies must Olivia M, Rebecca, Rosie and Gemma each get?
    Clue: 32 divided by 4 = ???

      32 sharesd between 4 means each person gets 8 lollies.

    I think division is sharing things into groups like sharing lollies between for different people equally.
    Question:Epic Matthew has $90 he gives 30 freinds how muvh money?

    e.g 1000 divied by 1 = 1000 so 1 means the other # that you are dividing by
