These are some of the science experiments that we did last week for our homework. We learnt some really interesting things. Describe your favourite experiment and why you liked it.
Great work Room 35! We had some really cool experiments also. We would love it if you could leave some comments and compare your experiments with ours. I wonder if anyone did the same experiment but got different results? Miss H
26.09.14 Awesome Archie’s Experiment “Pop” went the lid on the Coca-Cola bottle. “Pop pop Pop “we were all staring in awe at what about Archie’s experiment was doing . We heard the slushing before and knew that something was coming. Suddenly a fizzing started we stared in amazement, some foamy bubbles came out and the salty vinegar from the previous experiments came went away and was replaced by the smell of minty Mentos. I think Archie’s experiment was an epic experiment and I learnt heaps like how the Mentos interacted with the Co2.
Archie’s awesome experiment “Boom” goes the coke as it explodes like a bubbling volcano. I feel terribly nervous because I don’t want to get exploding coke all over me! The vinegar from the last experiment catches my nose and reminds me of the salty sea. I watch the mentos sink to the bottom of the bottle as the fizz tries to escape. I hear that everyone starts to cheer as the experiment ends.
Five! Ridiculous! Experiments! Splash as the Mentos goes into the coke bottle for the first time and after a few seconds with the Mentos in the bottle it starts to froth up and come out it was a bit anti climatic but at least it worked. Omg Archie has dropped not one but three of those minty Mentos treats into the fizzy coke bottle I can’t wait until it explodes and finally the frothy bubbles come pouring out of the bottle but this time it comes out even more swiftly than the other one this is SO! Kaboom! As the bubbling coke comes towards me like a rocket. I could smell the salty mint Mentos and the bubbling coke. When the coke came out of the coke bottle I felt cold. By Johnny
The experiment that explodes We go outside to watch Archie’s experiment he tells us about it first and then he opens the lid and it makes a fizzing noise. After that he puts the Mentos in the diet coca cola bottle and he steps away and waits for a little bit and then … all of the coca cola explodes into the air. I can feel some of the coca cola squirting onto me and it even gets on my nose. I can see all of the coca cola bubbles all over the grass. When the coca cola is exploding I hear it popping and it sounds like an erupting volcano. The coke is spreading everywhere when it shoots into the air and it looks so cool. Overall, I think the coke explosion was a good idea for a science experiment. By Jacob
BANG goes the diet coke from Archie’s experiment with Mentos and diet coke. We are all frightened because we don’t want to get the diet coke on our clothes. The explosions smell like minty Mentos bubbling away in the diet coke bottle. In the clear diet coke bottle is two Mentos at the bottom of the diet coke bottle is the Mentos drowning and bubbling in our faces. Overall we thought that it was very awesome and cool.
“BANG fizz pop!” We are watching Archie’s experiment and I am excited, scared and amazed all at the same time. I’m excited because I have never seen his experiment before. I’m scared because what if it goes all wrong and we get covered in in coke. I’m completely amazed because it is an interesting experiment .I catch a strong whiff of vinegar from the last experiment which reminds me of the salty sea. Minty Mentos are flying through the gigantic bottle of coke frothy white bubbles are shooting out. As the experiment finishes we all tell Archie to shake the coke bottle. By Tegan
Crazy experience Boom go’s the coke exploding out of the bottle onto the grass. I feel excited and scared at the same time. Now everybody is screaming as hard as they can. And the very strong vinegar creeps up my nose and reminds me of a very strong perfume smell. The mentors are now at the bottom of the coke bottle. Everyone is now so relieved that no coke exploded on them. Now I’m so jealous that I did not do that one with mentors and exploding coke. Now at the end I am so happy that we watched the experiences.
